North Canterbury commuters tired of drivingto work in the city may soon be able to ditch their cars in favour of a bike.

The Waimakariri District Council is seeking feedback on a proposed new cycle route, which would provide a safe and easy way for people to bike to and from Christchurch.

The plan is to investigate linking the Passchendaele Memorial Path through Kaiapoi and on to theplanned offroadcycleway, being built by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) as part of the Christchurch Northern Corridor project.
